What do you prefer to read JRR Tolkien, CS Lewis or JK Rowling? North American or English literature?

They're all good for different reasons. CS Lewis was deeply religious, and is a bit more limited in focus. Tolkien created an entire mythology. Rowling created amagical world, but is very grounded in the modern world as well. Your second sentence makes no sense, so I suggest you keep reading English.
