Why does faith require being conditioned to need pain and misery?

My faith doesn't require pain or misery. Since I met Jesus, I have known joy beyond compare. Like every other human being I go through hard times the same as everyone else. I don't live in fear and I try not to live in sin. I am certainly not dreary and if I do good, it's because I love people not because I'm trying to gain points. God is the Judge and quite rightly so, but yes, He is loving. I am so sorry that your outlook is so dreary.
