Where might this have come from?

I just re-watched director Quentin Tarantino's film, "Death Proof", and I am quite aware of Tarantino's penchance for '70's nostalgia and pop culture. With that in mind, I am moast curious as to his inspiration for the erfly poem. I know that it had to come from somewhere, and I'm hoping that someone might give me a clue, as far as this inspiration.
